Thinking about traveling between New York? Or Chi- TOWN???

So here is the deal...LITERALLY.... being that I fly between Chicago and New York quite often, I always like to try and fly for the best deals. Sure- if you want bad service, have to pay $25 to check each bag, a more expensive flight, or rude people, then by all means- DO IT!

There are a lot of great websites that can offer great deals between these two cities, but coming from a frequent flier who enjoyes flying NONSTOP, Southwest Airlines is my TOP CHOICE.

Here are a few reasons why:

1. It’s cheaper! They often have great fare sales if you look in advance that can be as low as $79 dollars or even less! They will sometimes have last minute deals but, typically you will need to purchase ATLEAST 14 days in advance or longer. The earlier you can book, the better chance you can find a better price.

2. It’s FREE to check up to 2 bags! I flew on Delta a few weeks ago and they charged me $30 bucks to check it because it was too big to fit in an overhead compartment. Appreciate that- thanks!

3. The service on Southwest Airlines, in my experiences, has been great. They are always very friendly, get you whatever you need and try and make each and every flight enjoyable for everyone.

4. You can get FREE flights! They have a rewards program on the website you can sign up for that is also completely free. :) Each time you fly, you get 1 point. When you get 16 points, you get a free domestic flight that is good for a year. You can also apply for promotions that offer opportunities for you to fly during certain times or months in which give you double or even triple points each way when you fly. This can help get you that free flight even quicker.

Have I gotten you interested yet??

Here is ONE MORE!

5. You can now buy flights directly on your phone AND get ding alerts! If you have an I phone, Southwest Airlines designed their own app. Once the app is downloaded, you can apply for ding, set your home airport or airports, and you will receive alerts on your phone anytime great deals are released.

HAPPY FLYING!!!!

It is now time to PAMPER yourself...or someone else :)

For those of you who have never heard of SPA WEEK.....YOU, my friend, are missing out! It happens typically twice a year in different cities throughout the U.S for one week. Hundreds of spas around each city join in and they offer different spa treatments for $50 each. Some of these treatments can normally cost up to $150 bucks! Who doesn't LOVE saving money while being pampered?? If you don't - there might be something wrong with you...

I have had the pleasure of indulging in this spa special for the past three years in New York City and have enjoyed it every single time. Please be advised that they ask that you tip according to the original price or you can tip as you feel necessary.

Some spas offer facials, body wraps, manicure and pedicure, massages, and others can offer waxing and even laser treatments! See below for your city. The ones with the asterisk next to it have spa week on a different week so if your city is on there; your Spa Week has already past but you should still sign up on the website so you can receive an email for when the next one will be. For the ones that don’t have an asterisk- Spa Week is just ahead from October 11th-17th so hurry up and book today! Under your city on the site, it lists all the different spas that are participating and what treatments they offer.

This could also be a GREAT gift to give someone. Whether they go normally or not, they not only can use it whenever they want, but they can make their own choice of where to go and what they want to get done..Something to think about :)

It’s now time to RELAX, RENEW & REJUVENATE!!!!

BLACKBOARD EATS!!!

For those of you who have never heard of this website- it is amazing. It is a website for different restaurants in NY, LA and San Francisco. When you sign up, they send you weekly deals for different restaurants in these cities depending upon where you live; most of the time the deal is 30% off lunch or dinner. Parties usually set at a max of 4 people. If you are lucky- they often include drinks! Sometimes other specials are a free bottle of wine with dinner, a free appetizer, or free dessert. Each time a special comes up, you can apply for it and it sends you a passcode you use during the restaurant visit. The offer usually lasts for a month. I have been to some delicious restaurants on this site- Bon Appetite!

NEW YORK CITY BABY!!!!

WOW-I cannot believe I am actually making a blog! I never thought I would get myself into one of these but what the heck!

I am a 25 year-old single female living in one of the biggest cities in the world- NEW YORK CITY! I have been here for what feels like my whole life but in actuality- 6 years. I went to school at The Fashion Institute of Technology thinking to myself'-" I want to be just like Rachel Ross from Friends," to later discover- I would rather shop for myself than for someone else! "FIT" which we later learned to call it was quite an adventure. Moving here as an 18-year old girl from Chicago, I quickly discovered that it is not easy being here alone with no family and the only people you know are the people on the floor in which you live. IT'S TOUGH….I would have to say that being able to do that- was one of my biggest accomplishments of my whole life. Now I am 25, live with two roommates, and try and deal with what all of us deal with- LIFE!

The more I experience, the more I realize about myself and things around me. I want to share the things I know about this city on this blog. From eating at cool restaurants, going to new bars, seeking out new hot spots, cooking a delicious new dish, finding out things about this city some people may not know, to appreciating the finer things in life (WINE!), I think this is worth a blog. I never said I was an expert- but this Blonde (yes I am referring to myself in third person), knows quite a bit. You do not need to spend your whole life in a city to know everything about it; it’s all in the experiences you choose to get your hands on.

If you have questions, just ask, but follow along with me because this has only begun :)
